We're thrilled to announce a brand-new partnership with Roblox, the platform where hundreds of millions of people around the world play, build and create. Together, we're developing a suite of free, play-based learning resources that bring the creativity of real game development into UK computing classrooms.

The scale of the opportunity

Roblox's platform reaches millions of daily active users worldwide. Digital Schoolhouse has spent a decade making computing tangible and joyful for over 400,000 pupils, 28,000 teachers and 8,000 schools across the UK. Over the next 12 months, we're bringing that combined reach to thousands more schools with play-based computing education.


Built for every classroom

When people hear Roblox, they often think of the platform familiar to millions, which is built on the brilliant creativity of game-makers. So with our focus on teaching and promoting Digital Creativity in schools, we are excited to use Roblox Studio, their free development tool, which lets anyone build video games from scratch! We will be designing workshops that let pupils build their own games in Roblox Studio, getting early, hands-on experience in what it means to make games people love, and to engage pupils in curriculum-aligned workshops and learning resources. We know not every school has the same access to technology, so we're creating a dedicated 'unplugged' workshop resource for schools without reliable devices or internet access. This addresses a real and pressing gap: 45% of households with children fall below the Minimum Digital Living Standard, and two million young people aged 8–25 don't have access to a device suitable for learning. No school should be left out of this opportunity because of technology it doesn’t                                                                                                                                                                                    have.

Supporting teachers every step of the way

As you will know, teachers are always at the heart of the Digital Schoolhouse programme. A dedicated Teacher Toolkit for Roblox Studio will provide safeguarding guidance, parent-facing materials, and curriculum alignment support, alongside professional development opportunities both within and beyond our existing network.
