West Suffolk College

The Digital Technologies department at West Suffolk College is excited to be a Digital Schoolhouse (DSH) from September 2023. As a DSH we offer engaging and inspiring computing workshops to Primary Schools and KS3 students, in our computing department. Pupils and teachers will experience lots of technology and hi-tech equipment in one of our venues; the XR Lab (state of the art Extended and Virtual Reality suite) or West Suffolk College Digital Technologies Department (Software Development Lab, Esports Lab and Network/Hardware Lab). The workshops use game-based learning, combining hands-on, interactive, digital and unplugged activities to introduce Computer Science concepts.

West Suffolk College is part of a family – the Eastern Colleges Group – that includes Abbeygate Sixth Form College and One Sixth Form College that offer extensive A-Level and diploma programmes too. This partnership gives us unique opportunities to collaborate and work together towards one goal – to make people’s lives better. The Eastern Education Group (EEG) is fortunate enough to have several campuses, hubs, community, and business centres across the region and we will be running DSH taster workshops at the EEG Skills Escalator Days.
