Welcome to Primrose Hill Primary School Digital Schoolhouse
We are pleased to continue the great work we started 2 years ago as a Digital Schoolhouse - one of only 2 schoolhouses in the Greater Manchester region and the second primary school to be inducted into the Digital Schoolhouse programme!
Primrose Hill Primary School is a two-form entry school in the heart of Ordsall in Salford. Our curriculum provides all our children with an education that will teach them the skills and knowledge necessary to be healthy, successful lifelong learners and good citizens in an ever-changing world. Computing forms an integral part of this.
We are a stones throw away from MediaCityUK and as such we provide a Computing curriculum that gives children the skills and knowledge they will need to be able to engage successfully with this ever-changing and fast moving area in the tech and media industry.
Our Digital Schoolhouse is run by our Computing and Digital Learning Lead Teacher - Jon Samuel. Jon has many years experience in delivering fun, creative and engaging Computing lessons and workshops and has a passion for seeing technology used purposefully across all areas of teaching and learning. He regularly supports other schools in the area, looking at their Computing delivery and suggesting methods and resources they can use to improve and enhance their curriculum.
We are able to offer FREE workshops to your students and teachers which can be adapted and tailored to your needs to provide a bespoke learning experience. These fun, creative and engaging workshops use play-based learning to develop children's understanding across the various Computing areas of learning. The workshops are under-pinned by evidence based research and pedagogical understanding. All of the workshops use a combination of unplugged activities and practical elements to teach the concepts. You can browse the library of available workshops here (an A-Z of all the available workshops and what they cover can be provided upon request).
Jon will work with your teachers to develop a workshop programme and then deliver the sessions in your own school setting, whilst also providing coaching support to the teachers, involving them in the workshop delivery so they are able to continue the learning experiences back in their own classrooms.
Our workshops run on Tuesdays throughout the school year. You can find the booking page for our workshops here which also has the most up to date availability and is regularly amended as dates become available, so make sure to check back regularly to see if specific dates have become available. If your chosen date is unavailable, please get in touch using the details below to discuss your requirements and check whether we can accommodate you.
