As Ponteland Middle School develops for the future, we aim to be a Hub of technological excellence in the North East. We are delighted to be representing Digital Schoolhouse in Northumberland and help in the formation of learners with a passion for Computing and the STEAM subjects. We aim to help develop the fun and excitement that Computing teaching should have and hope to collaborate with Northumberland and Newcastle schools and teachers in developing KS2 Computing.

Saint Mary’s College opened its doors in 1959 on its original site in the Creggan area of Derry. For fifty years it served the parish, parents and pupils of Derry from this site. It attracted pupils from a wide catchment area that embraced most of the city. In 2010 St Mary’s celebrated its Golden Anniversary and it moved to its new hi-tech campus at the heart of the Digital Corridor on the Northland Road. Pupils now have access to state of the art facilities and vibrant learning spaces.
Digital Schoolhouse fits in brilliantly with Shire Oak Academy’s primary partnership. Students have previously visited the Academy for Maths, Science and PE lessons as well as STEM days. The Digital Schoolhouse extends this into Computer Science. Our aim is to assist our overburdened primary school teachers, so that they have the confidence and skills to deliver Computer Science effectively. This will ensure that students come to us in Year 7 armed with the skills and love for Computer Science and Computational thinking.
South Devon College is a Further and Higher Education provider in Torbay. We are excited to be a Digital School House and look forward to providing a range of workshops in our new Hi Tech Centre.
As part of our drive to encourage interest in the computer science field and to show that all students can learn how to program a computer. We would like to give your pupils an exciting opportunity to participate in free educational days (between 1.20pm – 3.20pm) at Southend High School for Boys Digital Schoolhouse project. We have hosted successful events (hour of code) with some local primary schools in the past and we will like your school to benefit from this as well.
Becoming a Digital Schoolhouse Hub is a fantastic opportunity both for St John Fisher’s and the local community as a whole. We already have amazing links with feeder schools, our Catholic Multi Academy Trust partner schools and other primary schools in the area and the DSH project will only strengthen those links further. Our school ethos of caring for others ties perfectly into the ethos of being a Digital Schoolhouse and giving young people the 21st century skills in order to succeed is at the heart of why we wanted to be involved in the project.
