The Creative Computing Club CIC set up in 2012 has worked with over a thousand young people in Suffolk helping them to engage in technology-based sessions. Through its informal and non-competitive environment, it has allowed them to gain confidence and qualifications in areas that interest them the most and are relevant to today's tech sector needs.
“She has had the opportunity to gain skills not available through school and the background knowledge gained will give an advantage in further education and employment choices.” (Creative Computing Club Impact Report, September 2017)
The Creative Computing Club has allowed a myriad young people with different needs grow in confidence and become aware of the vast array of technology opportunities around them.
“Throughout the years I've been with the club they have helped me to further my learning and help with the next stages of my life.” (Creative Computing Club Impact Report, September 2017)
The Creative Computing Club does this by running courses focussed on cutting-edge technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Game Design, Computer Programming, Robotics, Big Data and more which draw on current examples and data from events happening in the real world. This approach allows the young people to find context and relevance in the different skill areas.
