The Digital Schoolhouse Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Team Battle is back! Schools and colleges can now register to take part in one of the biggest student esports tournaments in the UK. 

This year we're delighted to be continuing the title of Super Smash Bros Ultimate. for the second year in a row. With over 70 playable characters, Super Smash Bros has proved to be our most popular title to date!

How do I take part?

Schools and colleges can simply register here. Upon registration you’ll be required to pay a fee of £159.99 + VAT. Once payment has been made you’ll be eligible to receive the following by Mon 5 October:

Tournament timeline

  • Monday 5 October 2020 - Friday 29 January 2021: School heats | Format: SCHOOL'S CHOICE
  • February - March 2021: Regional qualifiers | Format: ONLINE
  • March - April 2021: Semi-finals | Format: ONLINE
  • April 2021: Grand final | Format: TBC

The general hype, buzz and excitement from learners around the esports tournament has been special. Having been one of the first Digital Schoolhouse’s to be involved in the esports competition this is now an integral part of our extra-curricular activities for learners to take alongside their main study programme. The additional benefits that learners gain from this competition is huge, we have seen learners improve confidence, motivation, self-belief, communication and team working skills.

About Digital Schoolhouse esports

Together with Nintendo Switch, the Digital Schoolhouse Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Team Battle reached an estimated 10,000 pupils in schools & colleges across the UK in the last academic year.

This immersive experience provides a unique insight into the creative digital sector, to promote homegrown talent and to enable students to aspire to careers pathways they may not have otherwise considered.
