Top 5 Computing Activities for World Book Day

Combine storytelling and coding with our favourite play-based activities that range from 10 minutes up to an hour, and cover both English and Computing curriculums - a creative match made in heaven!

1. Scratch Stories ๐Ÿ˜บ

Duration: 1 hour

This workshop will build on your child's understanding of storytelling and then introduce them to how they can develop this as a digital story.

2. Three Word Stories ๐Ÿ“š

Duration: 10 minutes (or as long as you like!)

The aim of the game is to try and find a way to get your partner to say the hidden word without actually using it yourself; whilst simultaneously telling a story only three words at a time.

3. Word Sneak ๐Ÿ’ฌ

Duration: 10 minutes (or as long as you like!) 

The aim of the game is to try and have a normal conversation with your partner and without breaking the flow sneak your hidden words into what you say. The first person to use all their hidden words wins the game.

4. Accidental Adventures ๐Ÿฐ

Duration: 10 minutes (or as long as you like!) 

Create a randomised story using the programming concept of arrays with Accidental Adventures!
