Immersive careers at the Festival of Education: Our esports pop-up

Author: Laura.Martin

Next week we embark on our first festival of the summer, but forget the wellies and wet wipes, we’re headed to Wellington College for the Festival of Education. From Thursday 20 June - Friday 21 June, in an event which brings together education’s most forward-thinking advocates, practitioners, policy makers and teachers, we’re delighted to be joining their prolific roster which includes the BBC, BFI Film and David Baddiel.

Over two days, in the festival’s 10th annual instalment, we’re incredibly excited to be joined by none other than Belong Gaming Arenas. Together, we’ll be showcasing exactly how esports can engage education to an audience of academic festival-goers.

Visit our stand located on Z46-Z47 opposite the Victorian Bandstand, and step inside our very own esports pop-up hosted by Belong Gaming Arenas. Here, teachers will be invited to experience a taster of immersive careers education in true Digital Schoolhouse style. Attendees will be able to grab a moment of respite from the hustle and bustle, and indulge in some Rocket League (2v2) together.

The Digital Schoolhouse (DSH) team will be on hand to tell you how you can register your interest in our 2020 esports tournament, due to kick off later this year. Whether you're new to the programme or not, we’ll also be happy to chat to you about all the other ways your school or college can be involved this year – not just in esports!

So, whether you’re seeking refuge from rain or shine (or would like the excuse to beat your headteacher in a game of Rocket League), pop by and find out how you can get involved.

See you there!
